Norman Vincent Peale, noted minister and author from the previous century, tells the story of a young girl from Sweden spending Christmas in big, bustling New York City. She was living with an American family and helping them around the house, and she didn't have much money.

So she knew she couldn't get them a very nice Christmas present—besides, they already had so much, with new gifts arriving every day. With just a little money in her pocket, she went out and bought an outfit for a small baby, and then she set out on a journey to find the poorest part of town and the poorest baby she could find. At first, she received only strange looks from passersby when she asked them for help. But then a kind stranger, a Salvation Army bell-ringer, guided her to a poor part of town and helped her deliver her gift. On Christmas morning, instead of giving them a wrapped present, she told the family she served what she had done in their name. Everyone was speechless, and everyone was blessed—the girl for giving, the wealthy family for seeing others with new eyes, and the poor family for receiving an unexpected gift. All of us have opportunities both large and small to show kindness, especially at Christmastime. We can help strangers by delivering gifts to needy kids or serving homeless families at a soup kitchen. Or we can simply look for everyday ways to be kind, like allowing someone to go ahead of us in a lengthy line at the department store, or giving that bell-ringer a little change and a few encouraging words.Maybe it's because we're in gift-giving mode anyway that giving to others becomes so important at Christmas. Or because we're more aware of our families and friends and communities. Or maybe it's because two thousand years ago, the earth received the most perfect, most loving gift of all, helping us to understand true kindness.Whatever the reason, don't let Christmas pass you by without showing kindness to someone. Because it is truly more blessed to give than to receive.

Make kindness a habit during the holidays and you'll double your joy as you start 2013. I guarantee that reading The Simple Blessings of Christmas will be one gift you'll want to unwrap again and again.

FIVE SECRETS OF GETTING AHEAD IN LIFE

1. Don't take counsel of your fears or the thoughts of naysayers. Shakespeare wrote that our fears are traitors! And Thomas Edison said, "Some of the greatest minds have been cut off by some of the most mediocre minds!" Don't dwell on negative thoughts and negative people

2. Success Comes From A Mindset Of One Team, One Fight! Organizations that resemble warring tribes usually fail. Teams that fight as one cohesive unit tend to win! Create a winning team!

3. Check small things. Small details can make big differences in success. Learn to deal with the details.

4. Share credit.
If you fail, take full responsibility. And if you succeed, share the credit with the team who helped you succeed. Share credit and spread it!

5. Be kind.
Kind words cost nothing! Be kind to people, and especially to your team.

JUST A PUSH

There lived a great king in a great village, he had only one child which happens to be a beautify damsel. He cherishes her so much that he decided that not just any man can marry her.
As this beautify damsel became mature enough for marriage. Her father the king decided to summon all the enable young men in the village to his palace. When the news got to the young men of the villagers that the king want to give out his daughter hand in marriage to a lucky man who could win her daughters heart.  All the men were so excited, most of them started dressing well, putting on a nice cloth and make sure they never over work themselves with the day to day activities before the appointed day comes.
Finally the long awaited day came; all the young men were summoned in the king’s palace. As the king start to address all the men, he said to them it was a great privileged for any one among you to win the hand of my daughters in marriage. But the lucky man that will emerge has to prove to me that he is qualify to take care of my daughter.
The king said he has a little test for the whole young men, any one who can pass this test will have opportunity to choose between this three option that I will offer.
First; will give the person $1,000,000
Secondly; will give the person 10 acres of land to any area of his choice
Thirdly; will give the person my daughters hand in marriage.

When the king was through with his prizes options, all the young men were so excited to embark on the kings test, they all started shouting , my lord king please tell us what the test is, we are ready for any test. Then the king requested that they all should follow him that he want to show them something.
The king finally brought them to his swimming pool, as the young men approach the swimming pool almost half of them ran back. Right in the swimming pool are different kinds of aquatic animals. e.g crocodile, different kinds of sneak.
The king said to all the young men, this is my test: any one among you who could swim from this edge of the swimming pool to the other edge without been hurt by any of the aquatic organism will be qualify to clam any of the listed prices.
After the king has finish with his proposal, almost 95% of the young men left.
Some of young men said I know the rich will never give you a thing on a platter of gold, some said I know this man is very wicked how did he think that any one could survive such test while some said this man want us to embark on a suicide mission, if I must die let me die a dead that is honorable not this kind of death.
While they are complaining and murmuring, they had a shout what? Some one was inside the swimming pool, how he got there no body knows.
Most of the young men rush back to the swimming pool to see how the young man will survive that test. As the first sneak came to attack the man, he dive it and escape while the second crocodile came he also dive it and escaped, the third one almost eat him but he survive it and came out at the other edge of the swimming pool. Every body was amaze at his courage and his gut.
The king was so excited that he went to the young man while he was still panting and said to him. I never believe that any one could take such a risk to pass my test.
He asks the young man to choose out of the three options, he said he will be given to any man who pass his test. But the young man was still seriously panting and shaking.
The king ask him, will you prefer to take $1millon, the young man said no, do you prefer 10acres of land in any place of your choice, the young man still said No, then the king thought that what the young man need may be the hand of his daughter for marriage. He asked the young do you want the hand of daughter in marriage, the young also said no.
At this stage some of his friends said is he mad; how can he reject all the offer may be his yet to recover from the shock he went through.
The young man said I am in my right senses and I am not shock; all I need is to know the person that “PUSHED” me into the swimming pool. It was then discovered that it was not the young man that jump into the swimming pool by himself. Someone “PUSHED” Him.
The king said to him son whether you are push or you push yourself, the most important thing is that you survived my test and my reward will be given to you.
My great readers some times all you need to get to the place of your destiny might be just a push; some times you might not know what you are carrying on the inside until you are push.
Stop pitying yourself because all you need to success is in you but until you are push into it, you might never fulfill destiny in life.
Just hang out with the people who intimidate you because in the process they will cause you to find out what is inside of you through their “PUSH”.
Shout this aloud “I NEED A PUSH”.

BREAKING THE LIMIT

He was born into a family of seven children, three girls and four boys. He happens to be the first son and the fourth child of his parent.
Before his arrival into his family, his mother had about three girls; in some part of Africa a man is not yet successful until he has a male child that will bear his name after his departure. Because of this kind of mindset in most Africa, his father started to have pressure coming from the families members that he should go and marry a second wife that will bear him a male child.
His Dad didn’t take their advice because of the love he had for his mother. When the pressure became so high his Dad decided to take action.
One Sunday morning Dad went to the church as early as 5am, when no one was there and prayed and ask God to give him a male child, he went into covenant with God which is “if God give him a male child, he will give God a priest”. God had him and gave him four male children.
12years of his life as a teenager was spent in the northern state, Maiduguri. His life took a new shape when his Dad decided that the entire family will be relocating to Lagos.
Life in Lagos exposes his real self to him because he has to repeat some classes that he could not prove that he went through. While in Lagos state he could barely speak or write, the only two languages that he could speak as of that time was “Igbo and Hausa”. He struggled to past his common entrance examination in to secondary school.
It was in his secondary school days that his secret was made known to the whole world. While in ss1 class he could barely read or write, posterity caught on him when the principal of his school decided to inspect all classes of the school with some special invigilator from the government.
His class was the first he had to start with, while in the classroom he sighted him at the back sit and ask for him to come and read a new rules and regulation to the whole class that the special invigilator brought from the government.
At first he thought it could not be him that this man just called, he try to hid from it but he insist that he was the one he ask for. At that point it now done on him that this could be the end of his journey.
As he stood before his classmate he could not see any word that was written on that paper, he couldn’t read nor pronounce a word from it. The principal was shock to know that a boy in ss1 class can’t read.
He pointed his Cain to him and said “how do you get to this class” at that point he prayed that the earth open and swallow me, he drag him to his office and said to him “if at this stage of your life you are still struggling to read, my advice for you is go and learn a skill or go into business, he handed over a letter to him and said give it to your parent when you get home.
As he got home that morning, he handed over the letter to his mother. As she read it the content; which says “this boy should go back to primary school or should go and learn a skill, he can not do better as a student. In summary he was ask to leave school.
He was out of school for the period of two years. The first year of his life, he was in business with one of my uncle in ladipo while the second year he was in the street of Lagos selling pure water.
One day, as he was selling his pure water, he came across an old man who said to him “Boy you are more than what you are doing, go back to school”. He replied him back sir, I can’t read or write, and he said to him boy; “I believe in you”. That was the very first time in his life he had such word.
After that encounter with the old man, he later resolves to go back to school. He started reading at ss1 class in second term; he could not recall how many times he sat for WEAC, GCE, NECO, AND JAMB examinations.
My great readers now is all history , because the young man now is a most sought after motivational speaker which gave him the opportunity to meet with four vice chancellor of five different higher institution in the year 2011, he is a proud author of 7 books, has a degree in computer science.
